I always hate duologies. I'm usually okay with saying goodbye to characters after one book, or after three or more, but two books seems like just enough to get me really addicted to a set of characters, which makes it totally unfair for authors to stop writing! I got quite attached to Aralorn and Wolf in this book, and now I wish there were more books. Oh well. This book had a lovely, twisty plot, and I loved Aralorn's massive, loving family. Like Masques (Sianim, #1), it's a pretty straightforward sword and sorcery, so if you're looking for challenging and unique, look elsewhere.
